Our story

Restaurant & Bar originated in Fall 2022 after owner, Mario Kacaj with his team decided to bring a taste of the Mediterranean to Westchester County, NY. Mario, has an abundance of experience working in the restaurant and bar industry, During the pandemic. Mario and his team decided to bring their exquisite vision to life through the many dishes that are featured in the menu.

The Mediterranean is known for their vibrant flowers and medieval waterfront castles. In arriving at the restaurant's name, the Owners wanted to incorporate old time history and florals into a name with bigger meaning. "The Thorn", which plays off the town's name Thornwood, is a perfect representation of the lyrics "every rose has its Thorn." We want people to walk in and be taken away by what they see: that an exterior Thorn can be accompanied by interior beauty.
